2024 FEB 11 | The Village - Business Plan

Hello from The Village Project!

We are dedicated volunteers who value nurturing a safe space to support others. We champion positive choices for life and giving back to community through education and service. We believe in growing authentic relationships built on trust, harmony, and compassion.

Village is about: creating, cultivating, and protecting safe spaces built on trust, shared understanding, active listening, and a willingness to challenge ourselves for positive growth.

Our online and workshop environments allow individuals to “come as you are.” Our network of professionals offer guidance in areas such as self-awareness, relationship intelligence, career development, and more.

WELCOME | About Village

In these post-pandemic times, many of us have been impacted by the loss of our Third Place, the 1990s term coined by Ray Oldenburg.

First Place is our home, Second Place is at work, and Third Place is a familiar public spot where we regularly connect with others over shared interests and activities.

Now that work-from-home has blurred for many of us our First and Second Places, our Third Places have become even more critical.

It is more than just a physical location; it is a place where people can be themselves and participate in contributing to a network of support.

The Village Project Agreement

Village Coaches align their ethics and standards with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). ICF coaches are professional coaches who have met stringent education and experience requirements, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the coaching profession.

In this spirit, Village Coaches support and champion other Village Participants. This approach can be applied across a range of different fields including wellness, health and fitness, high-performance, leadership, personal development, business, and many others.

Description of Coaching

Coaching is a thought-provoking partnership and creative process that inspires maximizing personal and professional potential.

Although it is not a legally binding relationship, coaching is designed to facilitate the creation and development of personal and / or professional goals; and to develop and carry out a strategy and action plan for achieving those goals with accountability in mind.

A. The Village Coach agrees to maintain the ICF’s ethics and standards of behavior.

B. Village Participants are solely responsible for creating and implementing their own physical, mental, and emotional well-being, decisions, choices, actions, and results arising from the coaching relationship with the Village Coach.

C. Village Coaches are not and will not be liable or responsible for any actions or inaction, or for any direct or indirect result of any services provided by the Village Coach.

D. Village Participants further acknowledge that they may terminate or discontinue the coaching relationship at any time.

E. The Village Participant acknowledges that coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve different areas of their life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education, and recreation. The Village Participant agrees that deciding how to handle these issues, incorporating coaching principles into those areas, and implementing choices is exclusively the Village Participant’s responsibility.

F. The Village Participant acknowledges coaching is not a replacement or substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, or other professional advice by legal, medical, or other qualified professionals.

G. The Village Participant understands it is their exclusive responsibility to seek such independent professional guidance as needed.

H. The Village Participant acknowledges that coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association.

J. Coaching is not intended to prevent, cure, or treat any mental disorder or medical disease. Please contact your medical, therapy, or counseling provider(s) for these services.

K. The Village Participant understands that in order to enhance the coaching relationship, they agree to: communicate honestly; maintain an openness to feedback; and create the time, energy, and space to participate fully in the program.
